This section will give you a 'sneak peek' into essential parts of my classroom and teaching style! Use the drop down above or buttons below to explore different areas to see lesson plans and photos of my work.
Essential Questions
My favorite part of my classroom is when you first walk in, I display our learning objectives. Before lessons, my class and I discuss the goal of our lesson or the essential questions for the unit. These are some pictures of my bulletin boards were I display my focus.
Goal Setting
Besides setting goals relating to balanced literacy, I enjoy setting goals with my students regarding good character and simple life skills. I find it important to challenge these young minds to think before they do and learn to build a strong character foundation. We display our goal in the hallway for all to see, and we post it in our pencil box so we are always reminded what we are working towards. Once a child met their goal, we add it to their book. At the end of the year the students love to see all the goals they accomplished. Some examples of goals are as simple as sitting correctly on the carpet to using kind words.
